Efrem Plawner is a Los Angeles based cinematographer and photographer studying Film Production at Chapman University. His work blends surreal aesthetics with investigative storytelling, balancing the poetic and the observational. With a background in journalism and a deep respect for verité traditions, Efrem uses the camera not just to document, but to interpret.
Influenced early by his father’s love of photography, Efrem’s practice explores perception, identity, and truth. His projects span narrative, documentary, and experimental forms, often drawn to the mystical, the overlooked, and the emotionally resonant.
Whether restoring archival film or shooting on set, Efrem approaches every frame as an opportunity to question, uncover, and feel. His art lives between realism and reverie, reimagining how images can move people.
